Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

We believe in one true eternal God – Adonai Elohim – the creator and ruler of all things, who exists in complex unity (one, but more than one), in three expressions – Abba (God the Father), Yeshua (God the Son) and Ruach Hakodesh (God the Holy Spirit) – who is righteous, jealous, loving, merciful, just and holy.
– Deuteronomy 6:4 ‘The Lord your God is one’.

Mattityahu – Matthew 28:19        Yochanan – John 4:34, 6:38, 10:30, 14:7-9, 16

 Yesha’yahu – Isaiah 43:10-12

We believe the Bible – Holy Scriptures comprising of the Tanakh – Original Covenant (OT) and B’rit Hadashah – New Covenant (NT) – is God’s inspired living word complete in itself as God’s manual for life. It is historical, it is current and it is futuristic. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. The Original Covenants including Torah are completed in Yeshua HaMachiach (Jesus the Messiah), our Salvation.

Mattityahu – Matthew 5:17-20        2 Timothy 3:16         2Kefa – Peter 1:20-21

We believe that Yeshua HaMachiach (Jesus the Messiah), the Son of Abba Elohim (Father God), was born of the Jewish virgin Miryam (Mary), and as both God and man, gave His life to reconcile mankind (us) to God. He lived a sinless life and died on the execution stake in our place as the sin offering once and for all time. He was tempted in all ways as a human but remained without sin (separation from Elohim). He gave honour to His Father in heaven.  His death paid our debt of sin so that we can be forgiven and He rose again victorious over sin and death as the firstfruits of the dead, to sit at the right hand of the Father. The ultimate purpose was to restore the original relationship between Adonai Elohim (Lord God) and mankind. He is alive and sent the Ruach Hakodesh (God the Holy Spirit) to work with us and empower us while Yeshua is in heaven with Abba (Father) interceding and advocating on our behalf.

Yesha’yahu Isaiah 53:4        Yochanan – John 3:16        Mattityahu – Matthew 1:23

1 Corinthians 15:3b-6a          2 Corinthians 5:21

We believe that the Ruach Elohim (Spirit of God) came upon individuals during the times of our forefathers, such as Avraham (Abraham), Yitz’chak (Issac),  Ya’akov (Jacob), Moshe (Moses), David, and the prophets for specific purposes as revealed in the Tanakh – Original Covenant (OT). In the B’rit Hadashah – New Covenant (NT), Yeshua promised His disciples a comforter would be sent to take His place after He had gone. He declared that just as He had done, the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) would glorify Adonai Elohim (Lord God) and not Himself.

B’midbar – Numbers 24:10        Shof’tim – Judges 3:10, 6:34, 11:29, 13:25

1 Sh’mu’el – 1 Samuel 10:10, 16:13        Yesha’yahu – Isaiah 63:10,11,14

Z’kharyyah – Zechariah 4:6        Luke 24:49        John 15:26, 16:13-14        Acts 14:16, 26

We believe that Man was created in the character and likeness of Elohim (God), but that through disobedience was separated from the original plan of God for his life and the lives of his Descendants. Therefore, all men are born with a sinful nature and their only hope for redemption (Salvation) is through the atonement made for them by Yeshua (Jesus the Messiah), an act that resulted in the regeneration and restoration of our spirit through a new birth from above. By Grace we are redeemed through trust/faith, an unmerited gift from (Elohim).

Bereshet  – Genesis 1:26-27, 3:1-6        Romans 3:21-26, 6:23        Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe that sin separated us from God and that we receive salvation by grace through trust/faith in the covering blood of Yeshua HaMachiach (Jesus the Messiah). Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. In order to be reconciled to Abba (Father) we must repent from our sin, receive Yeshua’s (Jesus) forgiveness, confess that Yeshua is Adonai (Lord), and submit to His will for our lives.

Yochanan – John 1:16-17, 11:25-26, 14:6        Romans 3:23        Ephesians 1:7

We believe that the Shabbat – Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) – is the seventh day of the week as instituted by Adonai Elohim at creation and is still God’s day of rest which He blessed and sanctified (separated as Holy). He confirmed it first to Avraham (Abraham) and then Moshe (Moses) as a mitzvot (commandment to be kept forever).  As Yeshua’s (Jesus’) disciples we follow His example and practice of honouring Shabbat (Sabbath), celebrating it together as a congregation. Yeshua is ‘the Lord of Shabbat’.

Bereshet  – Genesis 2:3        Devarim – Deuteronomy 5:14          Mark 1:21

Luke 4:16        Acts 17:2

We believe that as Yeshua’s disciples we must follow His example. As such Water baptism by full immersion demonstrates a believer’s identification with Yeshua’s death, burial and resurrection, and is the outward expression of being dead to self and living totally for God. It is a public declaration of being born again.

Matthew 13:17, 28:19        Yochanan – John 3:5

Acts 2:38        1 Corinthians 11:23b-26

We believe in the baptism of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) as a gift of grace subsequent to salvation with the Biblical evidence of speaking in other tongues and the power to witness.

Luke 11:13        Acts 1:82:4

We believe in divine healing (physically and spiritually) through the Name – Yeshua  – Jesus ‘Our Salvation’.
– “By his bruises/stripes we are healed.”

Yesha’Yahu – Isaiah 53:5        1Kefa – Peter 2:24         Mattityahu – Matthew 8:16-17

We believe in the power and significance of the congregation of believers to influence our world and the necessity of believers to live in community and meet regularly together to honour Adonai Elohim (Lord God) with praise, fellowship, prayer, training in righteousness and worship through acts of obedience and service. Trust/Faith without actions and outcomes is dead.

Mattityahu – Matthew 16:17-19         Ephesians 3:10

We believe in the practice of tithing to Adonai Elohim through the local congregation ‘which is the storehouse’, and the giving of offerings by all believers. This is for the work and extension of the kingdom and providing for the widows and anyone in need. This is ‘our reasonable service’.

Vayikra – Leviticus 27:30         Mishlei – Proverbs 3:9-10         Mal’akai – Malachai 3:8-10

2 Corinthians 9:7

We believe that every disciple (believer) is commissioned and empowered to go into the world and make other disciples. We recognise however that it is only the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) who can draw and change people.

Mattityahu – Matthew 28:18-19        Yochanan – John 6:44         Acts 1:8

1Kefa – 1 Peter 2:9         Revelations 3:20

We believe that God wants to transform and prosper us so we can live healthy, holy, God honouring, blessed and victorious lives that will impact, help and direct others towards Adonai Elohim.

2 Corinthians 9:8-11         1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

We believe that since the death and resurrection of Yeshua HaMachiach (Jesus the Messiah), our eternal destination of either heaven or hell (lake of fire) is determined by our response to Him. He is the only way to Abba (Father God) and having one’s name written in the Book of Life. Whoever does not have their name in the Book of life on judgement day will be condemned to the lake of fire.

Yochanan – John 3:36, 14:6        Revelation 20:11-15

We believe that Adonai (The Lord) made an everlasting covenant with Avraham (Abraham)  – ‘that day Adonai cut a covenant with Avram (Abram) saying “I have given this land to your descendants – from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River.” ‘ B’resheet – Genesis 15:18. This was fulfilled during King David’s reign and will again be fulfilled following the return of Yeshua to rule and reign as King of Kings in YIsra’el (Israel) for 1000 years. All nations and people will be required annually to go up to Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) to worship the King Adonai Tzva’ot (Lord Almighty) and celebrate Sukkot (Tabernacles).

B’resheet – Genesis 15:18        Yechezk’el – Ezekiel 37:12-14

Z’kharyah – Zechariah 14:1-19         Revelations 19 & 20

We believe that Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Messiah) is coming back just as he promised his first disciples he would. All disciples who have died will rise first to meet him in the clouds, followed by disciples living at the time of his return, and they will be with him forever. Yeshua will overthrow the ‘“the beast and false prophet’ and begin to rule and reign as King over all the earth in Jerusalem. He will rule with the resurrected martyrs and those who did not worship the beast nor received his mark. After his 1000 year ‘reign of peace’ all remaining dead will be raised, some to life eternal and the remainder to judgement at the Great White Throne. The old heaven and earth will be replaced with a new heaven and new earth, and those whose name is written in ‘the Lambs’ (Yeshua’s) Book of life will live there enjoying Gods Sh’khinah (Glory and presence) forever.

Z’kharyah – Zechariah 12:10, 14: 16         Mattityahu – Matthew 24:30-44        Yochanan – John 14:1-3

Acts 1:11, 3:19-21        1 Thessalonians 4:13-17        Revelation 1:7, 20:4-6

We believe in the following observances:
